Will I Succeed as an Actor, Artist or Musician?

Creative performance is a 5th-house matter in KP, distinct from the 10th-house fame of public office.

The question, and what actually decides it

“Whether a creative career will succeed” is one of the most common things people bring to an astrologer. In Krishnamurti Paddhati the answer does not come from the sign on a house, from a planet sitting in it, or from an aspect. It comes from a single point: the sub-lord of the 5th cusp.

The three closely-related performing-arts groupings are merged into one rule (5,6,10,11 core, 7 supporting from the actor variant) rather than three near-duplicate rules, consistent with how political_success.json already merges its Reader III/VI variants. Venus/Mercury connection is the qualifying factor per source but is not separately modelled by the plain house scoring.

That sub-lord is examined for what it signifies. If it signifies the houses that support success as an actor / artist / musician, the matter is promised. If it signifies the houses that oppose it, the matter is denied — and no favourable planetary period will bring it about. This promise-first order is the whole discipline of KP, and it is why the same chart can show a strong-looking period and still deliver nothing.

The houses that must agree

For Success as an Actor / Artist / Musician, our engine judges the 5th cuspal sub-lord against these houses — the same rule set it uses to produce a verdict:

A worked example

Take a chart where the 5th cuspal sub-lord is a planet that, through its own star lord, signifies houses 5, 6, 10 and 11. Every required house is covered, so the verdict is promised. Only now does timing become a meaningful question: the engine looks for a Vimshottari period whose lords also signify 5, 6, 10 and 11, and reports those windows.

Change one thing — suppose that same sub-lord instead signifies house 8, one of the obstructive houses. Now the verdict flips to denied, and it flips regardless of how favourable the running dasha looks. A practitioner who skipped the promise check and read only the dasha would predict the event confidently and be wrong. This is the single most common failure mode KP is designed to prevent.

A third outcome exists between the two. Where the sub-lord signifies the required houses but is retrograde, or is placed in the star of a retrograde planet, KP reads the matter as promised with delay rather than denied — the event comes, but not on the first indicated window.

Why the house choice matters so much

Notice that this question resolves to the 5th cusp — children, creativity, speculation and romance. Read the same question from the wrong house and every step downstream is wrong: wrong cusp, wrong sub-lord, wrong significators, wrong timing, wrong verdict.
